We are in the 8th week of our sermon series on the Beatitudes. This week is looking at verse 9, "Blessed are the peacemakers..." What would Jesus' audience have heard? They yearned for peace. They were under foreign occupation. Roman Soldiers were everywhere, and Israel hasn't had a king since Daniel's time. We long for peace, too, but it's a very different kind of peace. But we desperately need it. How do we get it?
